Job summary

Calvary Chapel Melbourne is seeking a staff member for its café operations to deliver quality food and beverage service on a full-time, on-site basis at the Melbourne campus. You will ensure friendly guest service, maintain a clean dining area, and follow health standards in Florida.

Responsibilities include operating the cash register, stocking supplies, and assisting with opening/closing procedures. Regular attendance at Calvary Chapel Melbourne is expected as part of the home-church mission.

FLSA status: Hourly (Non-exempt)

Hours per week: 40 hours (Full-Time)

Job Summary

The purpose of this position is to facilitate fellowship for the body of Christ through quality food and beverage production. Calvary Chapel Melbourne must be your home church with regular attendance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Ability to effectively operate a cash register and learn opening and closing procedures
• Experience in the food service industry
• Must be able to communicate effectively as it pertains to job responsibilities
• Adhere to the health standards of the State of Florida
• Always remember quality friendly service is our first responsibility (Ephesians 4:29)
• Complete training class in operations of espresso machine and how to make specialty drinks (Proverbs 1:5)
• Stock Café supplies and the Grab and Go
• Clean-up and set-up according to the lists provided
• Maintain a clean, safe dining area (1 Corinthians 14:40)
• Other duties as assigned by Supervisor (Colossians 3:23)

Job Skills and Competencies

• Be familiar with required restaurant industry standards for food prep and sanitation (Proverbs 1:5)
• Ability to work efficiently and effectively in team situations is critical, as well as the ability to work independently
• Social perceptiveness - being aware of diverse personalities and having Godly discernment to react and respond to situations as needed (Philippians 2:4)
• Must be able to lift 25 pounds
