Job summary

Good Ambler's in Chicago's River North area is seeking a part-time Café Cashier for its 2 North Riverside location. You will greet guests, handle transactions at the POS, and keep the grab-and-go area stocked and inviting.

You'll support inventory, assist with catering and wholesale orders, and collaborate with the bakery team. A friendly, detail‑oriented, and reliable hospitality mindset is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Previous cashier, retail, café, restaurant, or customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and provide hospitality and customer service.
• Accurately process guest transactions through the point of sale system.
• Stock and organize retail shelves, coolers, and display areas.
• Monitor inventory levels and assist with inventory counts as directed.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the grab-and-go area, including guest seating areas.
• Assist with packaging and preparing catering and wholesale orders.
• Assist bakery team with transactions, closing, and cleaning tasks.
• Ensure products are properly labeled, rotated, and displayed.
• Answer guest questions regarding products, menu items, and offerings.
• Communicate inventory, product, or guest service concerns to management.
• Follow all company policies, food safety standards, and sanitation procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Café Manager

Position Summary

As the Café Cashier at Good Ambler's 2 North Riverside location, you will be the first point of contact for guests visiting our grab and go café. In this role, you will provide friendly and efficient service while maintaining a clean, organized, and well stocked retail space. You will process transactions, assist with inventory management, support catering and wholesale order preparation, and help create a welcoming environment for every guest. Success in this position requires a positive attitude, strong attention to detail, and a genuine passion for "hospitotally".

Position Details & Benefits

• Job Type: Part-Time, Hourly
• Schedule: Approximately 20-25 hours per week, with an anticipated schedule of Monday through Friday, 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
• Compensation: $17-$18/hour
• Paid leave and paid sick leave in accordance with Chicago requirements.
