ABOUT US:

Our Baristas brew every cup with love making sure that each guest's order is carefully crafted to their specifications. Our Pfister Cafe Barista maintains a peppy attitude while taking orders and preparing drinks in a friendly and timely manner. The Barista inspires positivity upon each guest which influences the direction of their day.

JOB TYPE: Part-Time

PAY: $14.62/hour

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Provide quality beverages consistently for all customers, preparing Starbucks beverages to standard.
• Maintain condition and cleanliness of work area.
• Must have good speaking skills, maintaining composure and etiquette.
• Follow standards for merchandising, stocking, rotating, and storing all products.
• Ascertain guest satisfaction; in the event of dissatisfaction, tactfully negotiate accommodation.
• Comply with accounting guidelines regarding receipt of payments, cash drawer and house bank management.
• Balance house bank at the end of the shift. Retrieves returns bank from vault to workstation and return, to ensure accountability.
• Perform any general cleaning tasks using standard outlet cleaning products as assigned by supervisor to adhere to health standards.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Basic mathematical skills necessary to operate a cash register, make change, count total bank, prepare cash drops, and total all other charges.
• Ability to effectively deal with and resolve conflict situations, such as inaccurate check total.
• Ability to read and speak English sufficient to understand menus and special promotions, and communicate with guests.
• Ability to operate keyboard and Point of Sale procedures to handle cashier functions.
• Ability to stand for long periods and work continually in confined spaces.
• No prior experience required. Prior hospitality and cashiering experience preferred.
• Ability to learn all menu items.
• Ability to provide customers with prompt service.
• Ability to learn up selling techniques.
• Ability to uphold all departmental guidelines.
• Ability to self-motivate during slow periods.
• Ability to multi-task.
