Fresh Start CoffeeWorks in Greenville, SC is seeking a Barista to join our café team. Prior coffee experience is welcomed but not required. We value dependable, welcoming, and teachable team members who enjoy serving people and working in a fast-paced café environment.

You'll prepare beverages, provide warm hospitality, and help maintain a clean, inviting space. Shifts may include opening, daytime, or closing hours with a compensation of $12.00 per hour plus tips.

Qualifications

• Previous coffee, restaurant, retail, or customer service experience welcomed but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve coffee, espresso beverages, and other café drinks according to Fresh Start CoffeeWorks recipes and standards.
• Learn proper espresso preparation, milk steaming, brewing, and other foundational barista skills.
• Participate in ongoing coffee and beverage training.
• Provide warm, genuine, and attentive hospitality to every customer.
• Take customer orders accurately and efficiently.
• Help create a welcoming café environment where customers feel known and valued.
• Represent Fresh Start CoffeeWorks and its mission positively to customers and the community.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting café.
• Complete opening and closing responsibilities.
• Complete regular cleaning, restocking, and organization tasks.
• Communicate product, equipment, or operational needs to the Shift Lead or Café Manager.

Baristas are an essential part of the Fresh Start CoffeeWorks café team, providing excellent coffee and genuine hospitality while supporting the overall mission and daily operation of the café.

Previous coffee experience is welcomed but not required. We are looking for dependable, welcoming, and teachable team members who enjoy serving people, working as part of a team, and creating a great café experience.

Primary Responsibilities

Coffee & Beverage Preparation

• Prepare and serve coffee, espresso beverages, and other café drinks according to Fresh Start CoffeeWorks recipes and standards.
• Learn proper espresso preparation, milk steaming, brewing, and other foundational barista skills.
• Participate in ongoing coffee and beverage training.

Customer Service & Hospitality

• Provide warm, genuine, and attentive hospitality to every customer.

Teamwork & Mission

• Work alongside and support fellow Baristas, Shift Leads, and Fresh Start interns.
• Help create a positive, encouraging, and team-oriented work environment.
• Model professionalism, dependability, teamwork, and genuine hospitality.
• Support Fresh Start interns as they learn café responsibilities and develop workplace skills.
• Participate in ongoing coffee, hospitality, and workplace training.
• Help represent the mission and values of Fresh Start CoffeeWorks through everyday interactions with customers, coworkers, and interns.

Qualifications

• Previous coffee, restaurant, retail, or customer service experience welcomed but not required.
• Friendly and comfortable interacting with customers.

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment.
• Willing to receive coaching and continue developing coffee and hospitality skills.

Schedule & Compensation

This position is approximately 10 hours per week, depending on availability and café staffing needs. Shifts may include opening, daytime, closing, weekend, and special event hours.

Compensation: $12.00 per hour + tips.

Baristas report to the Café Manager and work under the on-shift leadership of the Shift Lead when applicable.
