Job Purpose

The Caf Attendant is responsible for preparing food and providing guests and students with courteous, friendly, sincere, and efficient service that meets or exceeds guest expectations. The position is responsible for fulfilling orders and completing sales transactions within the Clist Caf inside the Culinary Institute of the South. We take pride in every aspect of our work and perform it with energy and enthusiasm, and we need strong team players with a commitment to serving our community. We are looking for someone who has a passion for food, who adapts quickly to change and who seeks to solve problems with out of the box thinking at our Bluffton Campus.

Job Duties

• Ensure high levels of guest satisfaction, while providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service.
• Takes food and beverage orders and prepares to standards and in a promptly manner.
• Setup caf, creates menu, appropriate signage and specials for daily service
• Accepts payment and utilizes proper cash handling procedures.
• Execute all financial transactions according to college policy.
• Ability to read, write, speak, understand, comprehend and communicate clearly to others.
• Professional appearance and attitude for daily interaction with students, coworkers, and to the public. Maintains excellent personal hygiene, uniform complete and in model condition daily
• Ability to multi-task and handle multiple customers at the same time
• Ability to stand, stoop, bend reach, squat, climb, reach above head, carry, and lift (up to 40 pounds /-) Ability to stand for extended periods of time
• Work with students to ensure proper food handling, presentation, and quality
• Preparing and serving ready-to-eat food and maintaining a clean, sanitized, area
• Perform all duties assigned in an effective, timely, and professional manner
• Provide training to students who assist in the caf during by giving respectful and encouraging coaching as needed
• Rotate and maintain product to sell dates to ensure the freshest product possible
• Perform other tasks or projects as assigned by management and staff Side work
• Maintains service and sanitation standards according to health code regulations.
• Establish and maintain par stocks of all supplies, inventory, order and restock supplies as needed.
• Keeps caf clean and organized at all times.
