About the Role
In this role, you will assist in the café onsite at our Groveport distribution center. A Serve Safe certification is required. Your responsibilities include operating the register, food preparation, cleaning, inventory management, and other duties as needed.
What You'll Do
- Provide a pleasant experience focused on the customer
- Operate the cash register and manage cash flow
- Attend to the detail and presentation of each order
- Adhere to proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures
- Prepare ingredients by following recipes—slicing, cutting, chopping, mincing, stirring, whipping, and mixing
- Complete hot meal preparation—grilling, sautéing, roasting, frying, broiling—and refrigerate cold ingredients
- Maintain proper dating, labeling, and rotation of food items
- Store leftovers according to health codes
- Contribute to daily, holiday, and theme menus with the team
- Obtain Serv Safe Certification (paid for by Gap)
- Assist with stocking and inventory
- Lift, carry, push, pull, reach, grasp, bend, and stack cartons, standing or walking for up to 12 hours
- Be able to lift up to 50 lbs, depending on work assignment
- Work a schedule that includes nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed
- Use basic information-gathering skills to solve problems
- Learn standard operating procedures through on-the-job training
- Complete written tests and operate technology independently
Who You Are
- Capable of lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, grasping, bending, and stacking cartons while standing or walking for extended periods
- Able to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Use basic problem-solving skills
- Learn standard operating procedures, including operating power industrial vehicles where applicable
- Can independently log into computers and operate digital tablets or wearable devices
- Complete self-guided orientation on digital platforms
- Have basic proficiency in English, Spanish, or French, both written and oral, to communicate with supervisors and understand safety signage and protocols
- Fluent speakers of Spanish or French can access translated documents and support for successful integration
