Job summary

Scheels, located in Bismarck, ND, is hiring for a café/Candy Shop role. You will prepare food and beverages, perform barista and candy shop tasks, and ensure accurate production according to recipes. Following safety rules and SOPs, you will meet deadlines and support opening/closing procedures.

Candidates should have a high school education; experience in cafes is a plus. The job requires varied hours, including evenings and weekends, with a strong emphasis on customer service and teamwork.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare different types of food, drinks, and ingredients, including candy, baked goods, and fudge, for sale to customers
• Perform all Barista, Café, and Fuzziwigs Candy Shop functions, which may include deli line, food case, barista, grill, ice cream, baked goods, fudge, and other duties as assigned by the Café Manager and Supervisor
• Maintain working knowledge of Café recipes, beverages, and prepared foods
• Meet deadlines for fudge production and customer requests
• Follow all food safety guidelines by Scheels, State, and Local Ordinances
• Ensure all products are received and stored according to Standard Operating Guidelines
• Ensure Scheels Cashier Guidelines are followed as it pertains to Café registers
• Manage and support side work, stocking, daily and detailed cleaning schedules, including machines and equipment, and opening and closing procedures
• Maintain an orderly and exceptionally clean appearance of personal workspace and surrounding areas, including dining areas
• Must be able to perform repetitive fudge production processes, which include stirring, pulling, and cutting
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers and employees of the organization
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, safety rules, and procedure manuals
• Ability to work assigned schedule, which may include varied hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Education & Experience:

High school education, or up to one month of related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Requirements/Lifting Requirements:

Please be aware that our food may contain or come in contact with common allergens such as dairy, eggs, wheat, soybeans, tree nuts, peanuts, fish, and other potential allergens.

Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.

Heavy work – Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Schedule:

• Must be flexible to work an assigned shift schedules between 5pm-9pm Monday through Friday, 8am-7pm Saturday and 10am-6pm Sunday.
• Schedule may include varied shifts, evenings, weekends and holidays
• Must be available a minimum of two weekends per month : Typically scheduled 1-2 nights per week and an every other weekend rotation
