Job summary

Molex in Lisle, IL is seeking a CAE Engineer to perform structural simulations and optimization for datacom interconnect products, using FEA tools to design and refine high-speed interconnect systems.

You will work with Hypermesh, LS-DYNA, ABAQUS, or ANSYS and deliver reliable results, presenting findings to design engineers to meet performance targets. This role supports global teams and offers chances to publish techniques and contribute to product development.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in mechanical or related engineering.
• 1+ years experience with parametric CAD systems (UG NX, CATIA, SolidWorks, etc.).
• 1+ years experience with LS-DYNA, ABAQUS, or ANSYS Workbench.
• 1+ years experience with Altair (Hypermesh/Hyperview).
• Proficiency in Python scripting for data processing, automation, or simulation integration.
• Good communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct nonlinear structural FEA for short fiber reinforced plastic & copper alloy interconnect systems using Hypermesh/LS-DYNA or Abaqus.
• Deliver reliable FEA results and present them to design engineers.
• Provide design recommendations to improve structural performance.
• Correlate CAE simulations to real-world tests and improve modeling methods.
• Develop new FEA techniques and collaborate with vendors to improve accuracy and efficiency.
• Lead development of new products and coordinate global teams.
• Publish technical papers and patents.
