Job summary

Jobtailor seeks an experienced CAE Engineer to lead structural analysis, develop new vehicle architectures, and validate designs through FEA planning and topology optimization.

The role requires 2+ years in linear/quasi-static analysis, mastery of NASTRAN/OPTISTRUCT and LS-DYNA, and experience with Genesis optimization tools. Collaboration with cross-functional teams and suppliers is essential for on-time program delivery.

Qualifications

• BS Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• Undergraduate coursework in Strength of Materials and Engineering Mechanics.
• 2+ years’ experience in Linear Analysis (NASTRAN/OPTISTRUCT or equivalent), Quasi-Static Analysis (LS DYNA) and optimization / diagnostic tools (Genesis).
• Familiarity with CAE modeling tools and demonstrated AI applications in CAE.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis to lead and execute new architectures and variants.
• Drive design through analyses, provide clear design direction to partners and confirm performance.
• Create and execute FEA plans for assigned projects.
• Lead CAE suppliers and internal resources to meet milestones and deliverables.
• Recommend viable design solutions to resolve performance issues with mass and cost efficiency.
• Interface with SMT, validation, structure integration, N&V, and safety engineers to balance vehicle structure requirements.
• Conduct topology optimization to identify load paths and enable integration into math models.
• Participate in Product Development Teams to provide technical guidance based on CAE analysis.
• Plan, support and implement development projects to enhance virtual methods.
• Enhance efficiency and quality by developing process automation tools.
• Identify strategic opportunities for innovating processes and methods.
• Document analysis performance for program management and CAE reporting (Virtual Validation).
• Stay abreast of new CAE technologies and trends.
• Advocate for adoption of virtual methods in vehicle design and validation.
