Job summary

Alaska Military Youth Academy (AMYA) seeks Team Leaders to supervise cadets ages 16–18, ensure welfare, and enforce discipline within a structured program at JBER, Alaska. The role emphasizes leadership, safety, and mentoring in a challenging environment.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, 21+ years, a valid driver license, and six months of experience. CDL and first aid/cpr certifications are required within stated timelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Six months of work experience (paid/volunteer) is required.
• Valid driver's license is required.
• Must be 21 years or older.
• Substitutions: college coursework can substitute for work experience (3 sem hrs/4 qtr hrs = 1 month).
• CDL with 'P' endorsement within 90 days of appointment is required.
• American Red Cross First Aid and CPR Instructor Certification within 180 days of appointment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise cadets to ensure welfare and safety.
• Assess training and living conditions and report cadet behavior for discipline.
• Instruct and lead physical training activities (road marches, calisthenics, strength/endurance).
• Transport cadets to community service programs and authorized off-campus locations.
