Job summary

SpecPro Sustainment and Environmental, LLC seeks a CADD Technician to support Fort Hood DPW design and construction projects. You will draft architectural, civil and MEP details using AutoCAD and related tools, maintain libraries, and assist with surveys and data processing.

Two years of CADD experience, proficiency in drafting terminology, and knowledge of measuring tools for field surveys are required. A preference for an associate degree and Trimble tech experience is noted.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of CADD experience in drafting/design.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Rhino, SolidWorks or Autodesk Fusion.
• Strong drafting terminology and interpretation of technical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Assist with engineering surveys and data processing using survey equipment.
• Draft plan metrics, sections and elevations for architectural, civil and MEP work.
• Maintain and improve design libraries and standard processes.

Job description

We are SpecPro Sustainment and Environmental (SSE), a government contracting and consulting firm supporting several military installations and federal agencies across the U.S. SSE is seeking a CADD Technician to support our ongoing mission at Fort Hood, TX. The CADD Technician will provide technical support services to the Engineering Division drafting needs for Fort Hood DPW design and construction projects.

What You’ll Do:

• Work with team leads in managing priorities and project schedules.
• Coordinate with team leads for surveying requirements and process enhancements.
• Assist with the preparation and walk down of engineering surveys for architectural and civil work projects by collecting and processing data using survey grade equipment.
• Maintain and improve engineering design libraries and implement them using Bentley or other software that is compatible.
• Assist with the development of drafting and design standard processes and procedures for establishing consistent drawing packages.
• Provide comprehensive CAD technical services to support Engineering Division's drafting needs for Fort Hood DPW construction projects.
• Accurately and effectively draft plan metrics, fire suppression, sections, details, and elevations for Architectural, Civil and MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) project work.
• Be able to provide general drafting services with some direction from Fort Hood DPW Engineers, Project Managers, and CAD team leads.
• Provide printing and plotting support.
• Occasionally attend Fort Hood DPW Engineering meetings for project work as required to support the department leads.
• Assist with the preparation and attend staff meetings.

What You Bring:

Required:

• A minimum of two years’ Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) experience. AutoCAD, Rhino, Solid Works, or Autodesk Fusion experience is accepted.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent communications skills.
• Strong knowledge of Drafting terminology, techniques, and procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Some knowledge of measuring tools for field related surveys.
• Experience in construction and/or construction design.

Preferred:

• Associate’s degree in computer related field or equivalent.
• Experience with Trimble industrial technology.
