Job summary

Atlas Surveying, Inc. in Bluffton, SC, is seeking a CAD Technician to transform field data into accurate survey drawings using CAD software in an in-office role.

You will work on boundary and topographic surveys, construction staking plans, and client deliverables with close collaboration with surveyors and project managers. The ideal candidate has CAD drafting proficiency (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation), strong attention to detail, and the ability to read and interpret construction plans

Qualifications

• CAD software proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D or MicroStation.
• Knowledge of surveying techniques, terminology and industry standards.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans.
• Detail-oriented with ability to meet project deadlines.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Convert field survey data into detailed CAD drawings, including boundary surveys, topographic surveys, and construction staking plans.
• Interpret survey notes, sketches, and other data to accurately depict survey features and measurements.
• Prepare drawings and maps for client deliverables, ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
• Collaborate with surveyors and project managers to address design changes and modifications as needed.
• Maintain organized project files and documentation to facilitate efficient project management and communication.
• Assist in quality control checks to verify the accuracy and completeness of survey drawings.

We are seeking a talented CAD Technician to join our surveying team. This is a Full-time in-office position, located in Bluffton, SC. As a CAD Technician, you will play a crucial role in transforming field data into accurate and detailed survey drawings using CAD software. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on challenging projects while utilizing your technical skills and expertise in land surveying.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Convert field survey data into detailed CAD drawings, including boundary surveys, topographic surveys, and construction staking plans.

• Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce accurate drawings within project deadlines.

• Previous experience in land surveying or related field is preferred.
