Position Overview
As a CAD Technician II – Electrical at LJA Energy, you will be responsible for producing and revising detailed electrical drawings for industrial facilities, including lift and pump stations. This role involves working closely with designers and engineers in a fast‑paced, project‑driven environment.
A Typical Day Might Include
- Producing and maintaining electrical drawings, including plans, elevations, schematics, wiring diagrams, and schedules.
- Applying drafting and design standards such as NFPA 70 (NEC) and API RP 500 to ensure quality and compliance.
- Coordinating with engineers and designers to update electrical design packages.
- Utilizing advanced drafting features in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Managing multiple drafting tasks under tight deadlines while adhering to client and company standards.
Required Education / License / Certifications
- Formal training in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation V8 or newer with certification.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of professional, full‑time experience in electrical drafting using AutoCAD/AutoCAD Electrical and MicroStation.
Required Qualifications
- Experience producing detailed electrical drawings in a multidisciplinary engineering environment.
- Familiarity with grounding plans, conduit & cable schedules, P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
- Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Ideal – Additional Experience
- Experience supporting industrial facilities such as lift and pump stations.
- Ability to handle fast‑paced, project‑driven environments with shifting priorities.
- Demonstrated initiative in learning new drafting tools, standards, and best practices.
