Job summary

Bowman Consulting Group, Ltd. is seeking a CAD Drafting professional to support engineers, planners, and landscape architects in producing construction documents. The role involves drafting plans, reviewing work for accuracy, and organizing CAD files for multiple projects.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years using CAD standards, experience with AutoCAD, and strong MS Office skills. Eligible for remote work arrangements; normal office environment with DOT testing compliance may apply.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent commensurate experience required.
  • Associate’s degree preferred.
  • Three or more years of experience using CAD standards, preferably in the land development industry.
  • Equivalent of computer certificate for CAD Class Training.
  • Must have experience with AutoCAD and other engineering design software.
  • Experience with computer applications and software such as Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Perform work under moderate supervision and review by senior staff for quality assurance.
  • Draft plans/mark-ups to create construction documents.
  • Review work for completeness and accuracy prior to submission.
  • Revise plans according to client or reviewer comments.
  • Organize and maintain CAD files for projects.
  • Delegate design element tasks from project manager within budget.
  • Handle non-routine assignments with minimal supervision.

Job description

Purpose

Support assigned engineers, planners, landscape architects, or other technical positions by providing technical support and translating technical notes, sketches, electronic data and/or drawings into documentable technical solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Perform work under moderate supervision. Receive direction on moderately complex assignments, tasks, and execution. Work is frequently reviewed by more senior staff to ensure application of sound techniques and principles. Review work produced by junior staff for quality assurance.
  • Work closely with more senior staff members to learn and assist in design work.
  • Draft plans/mark‑ups for the purpose of creating construction documents.
  • Review all work for completeness and accuracy prior to submitting for review.
  • Revise plans according to client, manager, or reviewer comments.
  • Assist in organizing and maintaining all CAD or CAD related files for clients, town, or county intake.
  • Delegate responsibilities for submitting plans on time.
  • Obtain work assignments of either specific design elements to CAD drafting duties from project manager with allocated budgets.
  • Perform non‑routine and complex assignments from verbal instructions under minimum supervision.
