Job Description

Oliver Equipment Company (OEC) is a leading industrial supplier of specialty process equipment. Our products include centrifugal pump and compressors, positive displacement pumps and compressors, steam turbines, static & dynamic mixers, turbo blowers and related products and a provider of technical solutions to the downstream, midstream, power and general industrial sectors. OEC headquarters are in Houston, TX.

The CAD Technician is responsible for providing the project team and customers with drawings that drive precision execution, thus enabling the company to achieve its production and profit objectives.

Some of the exciting things you will do in this role...

  • Produces accurate general arrangement and piping drawings (CAD) that communicate to the fabricators and assemblers and customers in a manner that eliminates the opportunity for error; produces drawings from verbal instructions and field data.
  • Produces 3D modeling.
  • Creates detailed drawings according to company’s plan standards.
  • Revises drawings in a timely manner per approved plan change requests.
  • Searches out ways of reducing construction costs and adding value.
  • Maintains active plan library.
  • Prepares all necessary reports and paperwork.
  • Maintains thorough knowledge of industry and developing technology.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

A must…

  • Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent technical drafting degree.
  • Four to six years of related experience or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with construction standards and terminology.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage priorities and workflow.
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
  • Acute attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and organize projects.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Proficient on SolidWorks CAD system.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
