Job summary

Control Panels USA in Austin, TX is seeking an experienced Electrical CAD Technician to join our growing team on a full-time basis. You will translate plan drawings into detailed fabrication drawings for control panels and develop schematic and wiring diagrams for manufacturing.

Collaborate with project managers and production teams to ensure accuracy and timely delivery of drawings, while adhering to industry standards.

Qualifications

• Experience and/or exposure in control panels/relay racks environment is a plus.
• 8+ years of experience using AutoCAD.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, etc.).
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings including schematics.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.

Responsibilities

• Create drawings in AutoCAD for production team to complete panel cut-outs, back panel wiring, and a complete control panel.
• Communicate and collaborate with project managers to ensure accuracy, design and industry standards.
• Collaborate with production team and project managers to resolve design and drawing issues.
• Generate and/or revise schematic drawings, wiring diagrams, and physical equipment assembly drawings.
• Follow CP USA standards to ensure drawings are consistent.
• Analyze markups from production and revise drawings to reflect finished product.
• Review cost estimates to ensure correct parts and panels are utilized on drawings.
• May create designs based on contract drawings and specifications.

Control Panels USA is seeking an experienced Electrical CAD Technician to join our growing team for a full-time role. The Electrical CAD Technician will utilize plan drawings to develop detailed drawings for fabrication of Control Panels. They will also develop detailed design drawings and related specifications for the manufacturing of control panels.

• Adhere to timelines as set forth by Project Managers
• Provide sample project drawings upon interview.
• Have the ability to work collaboratively and work with Project Managers and other departments to research tools needed to complete the project.
• Have the ability to think outside of box and be creative when given generalized designs while staying within the parameters of the project.
• Other tasks and assignments and/or projects, as requested by management.

Desired Skills & Experience

• Experience and/or exposure a plus in control panels/relay racks environment but not required.
• 8+ years of experience using AutoCAD.
