Job description

Airswift is seeking a CAD Technician to work with one of our main clients in Muscatine, IA for a 12-month assignment.

Technicians will work on different parts of a project under the guidance of an engineer. A knowledge of material properties, an understanding of manufacturing processes and construction methods is a requirement.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Develop site plans, equipment layouts, piping plans and isometrics 60%
  • Updating as-built drawings 30%
  • Assist Project Construction Coordinator as needed with construction activities 5%
  • Work with Project Planner to establish resources 5%
Ideal Candidate Will Possess:
  • Excellent Auto CAD operating skills.
  • Surveying and field verification technique knowledge.
  • Understanding of mechanical and civil design practices and regulations related to system design, equipment layout and Mechanical.
  • In-depth knowledge of design codes, standards and regulations (i.e., OSHA, ADA, ASME, etc.) as may be applicable to civil and piping work.
  • Previous manufacturing experience - particularly with process related equipment (i.e., pumps, piping and heat exchangers, etc.).
  • Capable of working independently.
Description of Specific Work Conditions and Physical Requirements:

This position is in a manufacturing environment that requires:

  • The ability to ascend and descend stairs on a periodic basis.
  • Capable of lifting and carrying 40 lbs.
  • The ability to access all areas of the plant.
  • This position requires working the Muscatine Plant core business hours.
  • Extended hours and weekend work required when needed to support plant activities.
