Job summary

Burgess & Niple, Inc. is seeking a motivated individual to support engineers and senior CAD designers with transportation projects across Ohio and beyond. The role entails assisting with drafting, design, and technical documentation, while utilizing tools like AutoCAD Civil 3D or MicroStation/OpenRoads.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in either MicroStation/OpenRoads or AutoCAD/Civil 3D required.
• Experience in plan development for public agencies, counties and/or municipalities.
• Good communication skills, team player and detail oriented.

Responsibilities

• Support engineers and senior CAD designers with transportation projects in Ohio and other regions
• Assist engineers and CAD designers with transportation projects with tasks such as drafting and design, creation / editing of technical drawings and materials for submittal packages
• Support completion of engineering calculations using Microsoft Excel
• Support creation of construction specifications using Microsoft Word
• Assist in training lower-level CAD technicians on MicroStation/OpenRoads and/or AutoCAD/Civil 3D, plan production, and best practices

Skills & Qualifications

• Proficiency in either MicroStation/OpenRoads or AutoCAD/Civil 3D required
• Vocational school or associate degree in related program preferred. Civil Engineering Technician preferred
• Experience in plan development for public agencies, counties and/or municipalities
• Ability to train staff in MicroStation/OpenRoads or AutoCAD/Civil 3D design / production a plus
• Ability to take verbal direction and implement into drawings and calculations to produce the final work
• Good communication skills, team player and detail oriented with a strong understanding of plan clarity
• Interested in training staff and supporting the growth of Transportation CADD team as a company resource for roadway, traffic, drainage and other discipline production efforts
