Job description

CTI is seeking a Civil Engineering CAD Technician for its Akron, Ohio office. Working under a variety of Project Managers, this position will be responsible for CAD design using AutoCAD Civil 3D to prepare figures, maps, cross-sections, and design drawings for a variety of projects in municipal infrastructure.

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with assigned engineer(s) to assist in development of designs and preparation of studies and reports.
  • Prepare drawings, figures, or base maps using AutoCAD Civil 3D & Revit.
  • Assist in field surveys and reduction of field survey data. Will require travel over uneven and sloping surfaces.
  • Assist in preparing quantity take-offs for cost estimates.
  • Interpret, manipulate, and plot field survey and topographic data.
  • Develop and utilize three-dimensional terrain models to produce cross-sections and volume computations.
  • Prepare easement and property descriptions and drawings. Obtain deed and tax map information as needed.
Qualifications
  • Associates degree in drafting/design and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (ability to work effectively with clients, regulators/reviewers, peers, support staff).
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Must present valid United States work authorization (required).
