Job summary

D.R. Horton, Inc. is seeking a CAD Technician to support underground utilities and pavement infrastructure projects for residential and commercial sites. You will draft and annotate construction drawings using Civil 3D and AutoCAD, assisting senior engineers and designers to deliver accurate plan sets.

The role requires an Associate degree or equivalent, Civil 3D knowledge, and strong attention to detail. Occasional overtime and travel may be necessary to meet project deadlines.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or equivalent required; CAD certification preferred.
• Solid understanding of Autodesk Civil 3D software and AutoCAD drafting functions.
• Attention to detail and thoroughness in completing multi‑step drafting tasks.

Responsibilities

• Provide drafting support on underground utility and pavement infrastructure projects.
• Use Civil 3D to create drawings, profiles, alignments, sections, and earthwork calculations.
• Prepare quantity take-offs from drawings and plans; assist Senior Designer or Project Manager as needed.
• Work under engineers or senior designers to complete tasks within project timelines.
• Maintain professional conduct to support company goals and client satisfaction.
• Ability to travel overnight as needed, and work overtime when required.
