Job Description

Position Overview:

This is an entry-level position requiring knowledge development in specific drafting areas such as electrical, mechanical, or civil drawings, with the ability to operate a computer-aided drafting (CAD) system. Work is performed under direct supervision, with revisions and spot checks during progress. Problems are resolved by higher-level employees or supervisors. Incumbents are expected to develop skills in their area of expertise and work with greater independence over time.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Under close supervision, provide diagrams, schematics, layouts, multi-view, and various drawings to scale according to client requests.
• Perform mathematical, geometrical, and minor engineering computations.
• Create engineering drawings using CAD systems, including detailed design drawings and specifications for civil/electrical equipment based on sketches and data.
• Produce various types of drawings such as structure, schematic, foundation, grounding, steel, layout, equipment, wiring, panel, AC/DC, one-lines, etc., for substation, relay, and line design projects.
• File drawings, maintain engineering data catalogs, and perform routine drawing room functions.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1-2 years of technical school training or equivalent experience.
• Proven skills in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
• Strong PC/IT skills (Word, Excel, etc.).
• Ability to interact effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
