Job summary

Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) seeks an experienced CAD Technician to join our Toledo, Ohio team.

You will support Civil Engineering and Land Surveying projects through drafting, design support, data processing, and coordination with project teams and field staff. In this 100% employee-owned firm, you will work on diverse commercial, industrial, municipal, infrastructure, and land development projects, with opportunities for growth, licensure support, and a path to ownership

Qualifications

• 5+ years of AutoCAD or Civil 3D design experience.
• Experience supporting CAD in surveying, civil eng, land development, or geospatial contexts.
• High school diploma required; degrees preferred.
• Assoc or Bachelors in Survey Eng, Geomatics, Eng Tech or Civil Eng preferred.
• Ability to interpret survey data and engineering plans.
• Valid driver's license and legal work authorization in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Prepare survey drawings and plan production, including ALTA/NSPS surveys.
• Assist drafting and design for site development, grading, utilities, and infrastructure plans.
• Use AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar software to prepare deliverables.
• Work with survey and engineering data to develop complete plan sets.
• Collaborate with survey field crews, engineers, and project teams to support deliverables.
• Assist with data processing, plotting, and project documentation.
• Participate in field activities to gain hands-on experience and support survey operations.
• Maintain organization and accuracy of project files, drawings, and technical data.

Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) is seeking an experienced CAD Technician to join our growing team in Toledo, Ohio. This role offers the opportunity to support both Civil Engineering and Land Surveying projects through drafting, design support, data processing, and coordination with project teams and field staff.

You'll work on a diverse mix of commercial, industrial, municipal, infrastructure, and land development projects, assisting with the preparation of survey deliverables, site development plans, utility layouts, grading plans, and construction documents. Working alongside engineers, surveyors, and technical professionals, you'll play an important role in supporting projects from initial data collection through final plan production.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with drafting and design support for civil engineering projects, including site development, grading, utility, and infrastructure plans
• Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, or similar software to prepare project deliverables
• Work with survey and engineering data to develop accurate and complete plan sets
• Collaborate with survey field crews, engineers, and project teams to support project deliverables
• Assist with data processing, document preparation, plotting, and project documentation
• Participate in field activities as needed to gain hands‑on experience and support survey operations
• Maintain organization and accuracy of project files, drawings, and technical data

Qualifications

• 5+ years of AutoCAD, Civil 3D design software experience
• Experience supporting CAD functions within surveying, civil engineering, land development, or geospatial environments preferred
• High school diploma required
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Survey Engineering, Geomatics, Engineering Technology, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred
• Ability to interpret survey data, engineering plans, and technical information
• Willingness to work independently in the field, in varying weather conditions as needed, with strict adherence to operating procedures and safety policies
• Valid Driver's License required
