Job summary

MatkinHoover Engineering & Surveying is seeking a CAD Technician to join our Boerne, Texas team. The successful candidate will draft construction documents and exhibits using AutoCAD-Civil 3D and GIS, supporting civil engineering design with detail and accuracy.

You will work in a collaborative team, coordinate with engineers and surveyors, and contribute to residential and commercial site development projects. A2D CAD background and strong communication skills are essential for this role.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree or Diploma in Computer-Aided Drafting and Design preferred.
• Two years of experience in civil site design or land development preferred.
• Familiar with engineering principles, design and plan production.

Responsibilities

• Draft construction documents, supplemental exhibits, and subdivision plats using CADD and GIS.

Typical Responsibilities

A successful candidate will work harmoniously within a team environment on residential, commercial, and/or federal land development projects. Our CAD Technician's perform a broad variety of drafting duties utilizing Computer-Aided Design/Drafting (CADD) and Geographical Information Systems (GIS) in support of civil engineering design. Overall CAD work includes preparation of construction documents, supplemental exhibits, and subdivision plats among other duties. The employee is expected to exercise considerable judgment and initiative in the performance of their job duties. Opportunities for advancement in project planning, client coordination, and production coordination will be made available to candidates that meet client expectations by ensuring accurate, complete, and timely deliverables.

Requirements

• Associates Degree or Diploma in Computer-Aided Drafting and Design preferred.
• Two years previous experience in civil site design, preferably land development

Qualifications

• Familiar with engineering principles, techniques, and procedures.
• Experience in design and plan production.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD-Civil 3D and MS Office.
• Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
