Job summary

The HFW Companies is seeking a full-time, on-site Survey CAD Technician based in San Antonio, Texas. In this role, you will assist with the field-to-finish survey process, drafting technical plans, and engaging in various commercial projects using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.

You will interpret survey-related materials, maintain communication with team members, and enhance accuracy using aerial and terrestrial LiDAR technologies. A high school diploma and at least 2 years of relevant experience with AutoCAD are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience with AutoCAD in land surveying and engineering.
• Ability to maintain a flexible schedule outside of standard weekday business hours.

Responsibilities

• Support the field-to-finish survey process and assist with various projects.

About the Role

Join KFM Engineering & Design as a full‑time, on‑site Survey CAD Technician. In this role, you will support the field‑to‑finish survey process and assist with a variety of commercial and development projects across Texas, including boundary surveys, as‑built utilizing terrestrial scanning, and site development projects.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include property research, field crew preparation, survey computations, and drafting technical plans, 2D/3D models, and construction documents using Civil3D. You will work closely with survey crews, engineers, and project managers to deliver accurate, high‑quality project deliverables.

• Provide accurate maps and information to field crews based on specific requirements and scope of each project.
• Interpret and analyze survey‑related materials such as deeds, plats, and title commitments to ensure precise and reliable data.
• Maintain effective communication with team members and stakeholders, ensuring clarity and consistency across all projects.
• Utilize survey line coding techniques to aid in drafting efficiently.
• Use Civil 3D and Trimble Business Center software for drafting, processing, and data analysis (experience with these platforms preferred).
• Integrate and apply data gathered from aerial and terrestrial LiDAR technologies to enhance survey accuracy and efficiency (familiarity with LiDAR systems preferred).
