Chugach Electric Association is seeking a CAD Technician to maintain CAD drawings and related documents, and to support the Engineering Document Management (EDM) system across departments. You will verify data, generate reports, and ensure workflows align with QA/QC standards.
Responsibilities include updating CAD repositories, extracting data, and assisting in testing CAD software enhancements. Strong drafting, math skills, and knowledge of CAD/ GIS are essential for success in Anchorage,
Working undergeneral supervision,theCAD Technicianis responsible for the maintenance andaccuracyofCADand CAD related documents, theEngineeringDocument Management (EDM)systemand otherrepositories.Thispositionprovides CAD supportfor all departments.
A high school diplomaor equivalent pluscompletion of twenty (20)total college semester credit hours in CAD, GIS/geomatics, remote sensing, photogrammetry, computer science, natural science,surveying technology, engineering, urban planning, cartography, geography, or related field are required. Minimumofnine (9) credit hours is requiredin CAD.Degree or CAD Certification preferred.
Four (4)yearsofworkexperiencewhereCADisamajorresponsibilityisrequired.
Additional workexperience whereCADisamajorresponsibilityabovethe required four(4) years may besubstituted forthe required education; likewise, additional education in CADmay besubstituted for up to two (2) years required work experience.For these purposes, one (1) year of experience is equivalent to six (6) college semester credit hours of education.
Work will be performed inastandard officeenvironmentwith regularlyscheduled workinghours.May require liftingofup to30pounds onoccasion.Occasionaltravel mayberequired.Overtime may berequired.
