Role Description

The CAD Tech III role is a full-time, on-site position based in the New York City Metropolitan Area. This role focuses on producing detailed construction drawings and documentation that support engineering and architectural design across demolition, structural, geotechnical, and alteration projects.

Day-to-day responsibilities include creating and revising CAD drawings, coordinating with engineers and architects to incorporate design changes, and ensuring plans meet applicable codes, standards, and project specifications. The CAD Tech III will organize drawing sets, maintain drawing libraries and templates, and assist in preparing construction documents and shop drawings for multi-scope projects. The role also involves collaborating with project teams, responding to redlines and review comments, and supporting quality control processes to ensure accurate, buildable, and technically sound deliverables.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software for construction and structural drafting, with the ability to manage complex drawing sets.
• Ability to produce accurate technical drawing and engineering drawings that clearly convey design intent and construction details.
• Experience preparing architectural drawings and general drawing documentation for demolition, alterations, and new building projects.
• Relevant experience in the construction, engineering, or architecture industry, preferably in urban or high-density environments.
• Knowledge of building codes, construction standards, and industry best practices related to structural and architectural drafting.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, architects, and contractors.
• Associate's or bachelor's degree in drafting, engineering technology, architecture, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Familiarity with NYC Building code
