Job summary

Helix Electric is seeking a CAD Tech in Las Vegas to perform BIM detailing for electrical systems and power infrastructure. The role involves interpreting diagrams, coordinating with VDC teams, and producing shop drawings for field use.

The candidate will engage in regular field site visits, collaborate with VDC coordinators, and leverage Autodesk tools to ensure accurate installation methods while meeting project schedules and budgets. On-site work in Las Vegas is required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Autodesk production software (Revit, Navisworks, APL, BIM 360).
• Degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering or field experience preferred.
• 1–2 years of experience in Electrical/Power Systems classes and/or internships preferred.
• Excellent oral, prioritization and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Interpret single line diagrams and electrical drawings.
• Rough book edits and coordination.
• Regular field site visits with possibility to be stationed on a project site.
• Work with the VDC Coordinators and VDC Manager to understand installation means and methods.
• Provide top service to Operations teams with concise communication.
• VDC modeling of electrical systems (lighting, gear, pathways).
• Creation of shop drawings for the field.
• Work under the direction of a VDC Coordinator or VDC Manager.
• Collaborate and coordinate with other disciplines.
• Adhere to VDC project workflow criteria and content standards.

Electrical BIM Detailer is responsible for the BIM design of power systems and/or building systems and systems infrastructures.

• Motivation to complete tasks on time and on budget.
• Must successfully pass a background/drug screen.
