Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with engineers, architects and PMs to support projects.
  • Provide CAD/BIM/GIS technical support for facilities and utility systems.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and technical specs; ensure compliance.
  • Assist in archiving and managing engineering information.

Job description

We're looking for a CAD Specialist / CAD Technician to join our outstanding team supporting the 99th Readiness Division, Directorate of Public Works at Joint Base Lakehurst, Dix, McGuire (JBLDM). If you love CAD, BIM, GIS, engineering and geospatial support in a fast-paced / team environment, then this role is for you! We need your expertise to collaborate as a technical resource with engineers, architects, and project managers to support engineering projects involving facilities, utility systems, roads and infrastructure assets.

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of three to five (3-5) years of progressively responsible experience supporting CAD, BIM, GIS, engineering design, or engineering information management environments - required.
  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology, Architecture, Geographic Information Systems, Construction Management, Civil Engineering Technology, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline - preferred, but not required.
  • Proficiency with the following - desired:
    • Bentley MicroStation
    • AutoCAD
    • ArcGIS
    • Other GIS systems
    • Microsoft Office Suite including Teams, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated ability to independently analyze technical information, interpret engineering standards, and develop recommendations supporting engineering and infrastructure projects. Experience interpreting engineering drawings, construction documents, and technical specifications.
  • Knowledge of federal, military, and commercial engineering standards and drafting procedures.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
  • A valid driver's license is required to travel or operate government or company vehicles and equipment.
  • Must be able to pass a drug screening and government background investigation/obtain favorable National Agency Check with Inquiry (NACI) in order to maintain a Common Access Card (CAC) and Information Technology (IT) access.
  • Ability to travel (minimal), based on the needs of the project.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD), USACE, or military engineering projects.
  • Familiarity with:
    • BIM systems
    • SharePoint integration
    • Facility infrastructure mapping
    • Utility systems
    • Engineering archive systems
  • Experience with spatial analysis, visualization tools, and geospatial data management.
  • Experience conducting CAD/GIS user training and technical support.
