Job summary

Coastal Forest Products is seeking an experienced CAD Plan Designer to create structural framing layouts, plan takeoffs, and optimized EWP solutions for commercial and residential projects in Bow, NH. You will serve as a technical resource for customers and contractors, guiding applications, installations, and best practices.

Requires 2–3 years in CAD design with strong CAD proficiency, reading blueprints, and knowledge of building codes.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience in CAD design, structural drafting, or related field.
• Proficient with CAD software and ability to read/understand blueprints.
• Solid understanding of building codes, load calculations, and construction practices.

Responsibilities

• Creates structural framing layouts and plan takeoffs for commercial and residential projects.
• Ensures all designs meet local building codes and engineering standards.
• Interprets architectural and structural plans to develop optimized EWP solutions.
• Interacts with retail customers and contractors regarding product/technical questions.

Coastal Forest Products is seeking an experienced CAD Plan Designer to create structural framing layouts, plan takeoffs, and optimized EWP solutions for commercial and residential projects that meet local building codes and engineering standards. Beyond design, you’ll serve as a technical resource for retail customers and contractors, providing guidance on applications, installations, and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Creates structural framing layouts and performs plan takeoffs for commercial and residential projects.
• Ensures all designs meet local building codes and engineering standards.
• Interprets architectural and structural plans to develop optimized EWP solutions.
• Interacts with retail customers, alongside contractors regarding product / technical questions.
• Collaborates with the department head and team to continuously improve processes and workflows.
• Manages multiple projects while meeting deadlines and maintaining quality standards.
• Coordinates with operations to ensure project requirements and delivery timelines are met.
• Provides technical support and guidance regarding applications, installations, and best practices.
• Represents Coastal in a professional manner and builds collaborative relationships with customers.
• 2-3 years of experience in CAD design, structural drafting, or related field
• Strong Proficiency with CAD software and ability to read / understand blueprints
• Solid understanding of building codes, load calculations, and construction practices
• Detail-focused with the ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities
• Strong communication skills and ability to understand customer’s needs
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to strongly work in a fast-paced, team environment
• Legally permitted to work in the United States

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Drafting, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)

Job Type, Schedule & On-Site Work Requirement:

• Full-Time/ Exempt
• Monday–Friday, Business Hours 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• 100% on-site in Bow, NH
