Job summary

Acuren is recruiting a Computer Report Admin/CAD Operator to support our operations in Portland, Oregon. The role involves generating detailed design models and converting field ISO sketches into AutoCAD, with data entry into the mechanical integrity data management system.

The position requires 30–40% travel and local candidates in Portland or surrounding areas preferred. The role blends office duties with field site work and collaboration with customers.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2-year degree in Mechanical Drafting, CAD, or related discipline.
• Experience with industrial drafting and CAD operations for pressure vessels and piping.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Plant3D, CadWorx, and MS Office.
• Knowledge of API codes and NDT principles preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review specs, sketches, drawings to assess piping/vessel structure and procedures.
• Create 3D models and 2D isometrics from 3D laser scan data; validate P&ID/PFD.
• Coordinate with customer representatives to review schematics and answers questions.
• Develop detailed AutoCAD drawings from sketches and notes.
• Review contract documents with team and ensure drawing accuracy and coordination.
• Support field work; travel 30–40% and gather information at client sites.
