Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems in Colorado Springs, CO seeks a Computer Aided Design and Modeling Engineer to convert COTS drawings into precise 2D/3D models and documentation. You will ensure ASME compliance, create complete drawing packages, and collaborate across mechanical, electrical, and structural teams.

The role requires a Secret clearance and willingness to travel up to 25%. Relocation assistance may be available, with competitive base pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• 2 years with a Bachelor’s in a related field, 3 years with a Master’s degree; 4 extra years allowed in lieu of a degree.
• Active U.S. Government Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility.
• Proficiency in 2D/3D CAD drafting and modeling using AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks.
• Experience producing fabrication or installation drawings and BOMs per ASME standards.
• Experience with PLM/PDM systems such as Siemens Teamcenter, Windchill, ENOVIA or ARAS.
• Attention to detail, spatial reasoning, strong communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Develop, update, and release 2D drawings and 3D models from concepts and markups using AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
• Produce complete drawing packages with BOMs, materials, finishes, and installation procedures.
• Review drawings for clarity, dimensional accuracy, and ASME/code compliance.
• Incorporate drawing changes into redlines and as-built drawings.
• Coordinate revisions with engineers and cross-functional teams.
• Support drawing reviews, verification, and documentation release using PLM/PDM tools.
• Help improve CAD standards, templates, and drafting best practices.
