Job description

Gedeon GRC Consulting - CADD/MicroStation Technician

Gedeon GRC Consulting is seeking a skilled CADD/MicroStation Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in drafting and design, with proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CADD) software, including MicroStation and AutoCAD. Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, ProjectWise, and other Bentley and Autodesk software is essential.

The technician will be responsible for preparing design documents for civil engineering projects such as buildings, highways, bridges, pipelines, flood control projects, and water and sewerage systems.

Salary Range

$65,000 - $102,000 annually, commensurate with experience.

Location

Options include Remote, Hybrid (local to the NYC Metro Area), or in-office at our locations in Syosset, NY; Princeton, NJ; or Newark, NJ.

Travel

Less than 10% travel required.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare drawings, layouts, sketches, maps, and graphic representations of engineering designs using Bentley and Autodesk software.
  • Develop plans, sections, elevations, and details for projects of varying sizes and complexities.
  • Create highway and roadway infrastructure plans, profiles, super elevation transitions, and cross sections.
  • Annotate, dimension, and detail production drawings according to standards and practices.
  • Manage large sheet sets, including revisions and markups.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure accurate and timely delivery of drawings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree with at least 5 years of relevant civil engineering CADD/design experience.
  • Advanced proficiency in MicroStation, AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office.
  • Autodesk Certification and training in drafting or building modeling.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD Architecture, Auto Turn, GuideSIGN, Bim360, and ACC is a plus.
  • Familiarity with AASHTO Highway Design Guide, NYSDOT standards, MUTCD, NYCDOT, NYCDEP, and NYCDDC guidelines.
  • Understanding of civil and/or structural drafting and design standards.
  • Basic knowledge of 3D laser scanning and point clouds.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy to meet standards and regulations.
  • Knowledge of AEC terminology.
