Job Title: CAD/MEP BIM Coordinator

Location: Allentown, PA

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented CAD/MEP BIM Coordinator to join our dynamic team in Allentown, PA. This full-time role plays a vital part in supporting the design and construction of complex commercial mechanical systems. You will be responsible for developing, coordinating, and maintaining high-quality BIM and CAD deliverables to ensure the successful execution of mechanical, HVAC, and plumbing projects. This position serves as a key link between engineering, construction, and field operations, driving accuracy, efficiency, and collaboration throughout every stage of the project.

Responsibilities

  • Create, manage, and update coordinated BIM models for HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems in alignment with project specifications and company standards.
  • Produce accurate and detailed construction documents, including shop drawings, layout plans, and as-built records.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and field teams to ensure constructability and coordination of systems.
  • Conduct clash detection and resolution using Navisworks or equivalent platforms.
  • Provide accurate layout drawings and prefabrication data to support field installation and fabrication workflows.
  • Maintain version control, drawing logs, and organized model documentation.
  • Coordinate closely with other trades and subcontractors to ensure interdisciplinary compatibility and design integrity.
  • Support and mentor junior CAD/BIM technicians to maintain team standards and development

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a CAD/BIM coordination role within the mechanical, HVAC, or construction industries
  • Proficiency in Revit MEP, AutoCAD, and Navisworks Manage
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including HVAC, piping, and plumbing
  • Proven experience working on commercial or industrial construction projects
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and shop documents
  • Familiarity with BIM Execution Plans, Level of Development (LOD) standards, and model coordination protocols
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities
  • Associate degree or technical certification in CAD, BIM, mechanical design, or a related field (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
