Forcine Concrete & Construction Co. in Malvern is seeking a CAD Layout Engineer who is detail-oriented and tech-savvy. You will manage layout and surveying activities on construction sites, establishing control lines and elevation points.

Responsibilities include creating CAD files for field use, coordinating layout tasks, and supporting field engineering. Frequent travel to job sites is required; you will work both in the field and office, ensuring drawings align with contract requirements.

Job description

The CAD Layout Engineer must be detailed oriented, tech savvy and be able to manage layout and surveying activities on construction sites, including establishing control lines, setting elevation points, and coordinating various layouts tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review project documents
• Create and build CAD files for field use
• Manage individual jobs with layout specific activities
• Understand the objectives of the site survey and provide horizontal and vertical control using Robotic Total Stations.
• Participate in basic layout and field engineering activities. These activities include:
  1. Establish control lines from control points
  2. Layout Foundations
  3. Layout vertical formwork such as columns and walls
  4. Establish elevation control points
  5. Layout decks and deck edges
  6. Layout required embeds block-outs and other items required by contract
• Assist in the performance of a variety of surveying activities
• Provide clerical support and documentation of engineering activities
• Maintain proper usage and storage of all surveying equipment
• Contribute to the team effort by completing related assignments as needed
• Willingness to attend layout-related training programs
• Willingness to travel to job sites as needed.

Qualifications:

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
• Must be motivated and have strong work ethic
• Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong attention to details
• Frequent, extensive travel required
• Drive on construction jobsites and walk on rough terrain as required
• Proficient at reading and understanding contract drawings, including but not limited to both structural and architectural drawings, with the ability to cross check between the two documents as needed.
• Ability to meet deadlines and multi-task in fast paced environment
• Possess knowledge of construction field engineering from pre-construction to completion
• Must have a Valid Driver’s License

Work Environment:

This position will be a combination of field and office work with potential exposure to loud noise, moving equipment, dust and outdoor elements. The worker is exposed to both indoor and outdoor environmental conditions, including extreme cold and heat for extended periods exceeding one hour. Factors such as wind and humidity should also be considered, as they can intensify the cold and heat. The worker is exposed to various atmospheric conditions that may impact the respiratory system or skin, including fumes, odors, dust, mist, gases, and inadequate ventilation.
