CAD engineer, Restraints and Hardware Safety Electronics

We are currently seeking an Engineer, Hardware Safety Electronics. This position requires an experienced professional in Safety Electronics packaging and mechanical development. Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches work with vigor and determination. Candidates should demonstrate excellence in their field, learn quickly, and strive for perfection in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design release of Safety Electronics hardware.
  • Support mechanical integration and release of Safety Electronics components.
  • Maintain PLM data for Safety Electronic Components.
  • Collaborate with design and interior engineering teams for restraint system packages.
  • Manage Tier 1 suppliers for engineering development and program timing.
  • Coordinate with supply chain to meet key milestones.
  • Define electrical interface documentation, connector selection, pinout, etc.
  • Work with vehicle electrical harness team to integrate safety systems.
  • Support vehicle homologation for regulatory compliance.
  • Provide expertise on Safety Electronics system design to meet vehicle targets.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of automotive electrical safety systems, with experience in OEM or Tier 1 suppliers.
  • CAD skills for packaging components, designing brackets, fixtures, etc. (3+ years in Catia/NX/Creo).
  • Understanding of GD&T and drawing creation.
  • Proven track record in vehicle electrical system development.
  • Knowledge of vehicle crash safety technology and networks (CAN, LIN, Ethernet).
  • Strong problem-solving fundamentals and communication skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Functional Safety, FMEA, embedded hardware/software, CAE, harness design, electric propulsion systems.
  • Master’s degree in engineering with relevant experience.
