Job summary

Vulcan Metals Corporation, located in Tacoma, is seeking a CAD Engineer to bridge manufacturing engineering and operations. You will develop and modify 3D CAD models, enhance tooling designs, improve material flow, and help raise casting and machining quality.

The role supports process-improvement initiatives and includes accounting-related tasks to monitor financial performance and resource utilization.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, CAD Design, or related field.
• 3+ years CAD experience in foundry, machining, or manufacturing environments.
• Experience with GD&T, 3D visualization, and drafting.

Responsibilities

• Proficient in the use of CAD software.
• Collaborate with process engineers and production teams to integrate CAD models into casting, machining, and finishing workflows.
• Provide technical support by interpreting CAD designs and specifications.
• Maintain an organized CAD model library and ensure adherence to GD&T standards.
• Perform solidification modelling.
• Support CAM toolpath planning.
• Participate in continuous-improvement initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
