Job summary

Unified Door & Hardware Group (UDHG) seeks engineers to drive CAD-based shop drawings for hollow metal and wood doors, coordinating across teams to ensure accuracy and timeliness. The role emphasizes documentation, compliance with building codes, and collaboration on projects for commercial and institutional markets.

Reporting to the VP of Engineering, you will support R&D, review drawings, and assist in bringing new products to market while maintaining client specifications and project

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with additional computer training or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Must have knowledge of structural steel and miscellaneous metals.
• Must be able to read and interpret drawings and contract specifications.
• AutoCAD (Required)

Responsibilities

• Project & Engineering Support: Assists with the research, design, and implementation of projects
• Technical Design & Compliance: Interprets Architectural Specifications and Blueprints to develop CAD shop drawings for Architect’s review
• Project Coordination & Communication: Coordinates with client and Project Manager to resolve issues and manage the project timeline
• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain documentation and keep superiors informed of progress and problems
• Team Collaboration & Relationship Management: Establishes and maintains effective communication with area staff
• Miscellaneous: Support values in Safety, Customer Focus, Teamwork, Integrity and being a Company of Choice

Education
