Overview

Advantage Technical is hiring an experienced CAD Engineer specializing in Body Interior Systems & Components to support an automotive team in Newark, CA. If you're a forward-thinking problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, we want to hear from you.

Pay: $55-$59/hour (based on experience)

Responsibilities

• Lead conceptual and detailed design of interior components
• Create CAD surfaces, solids, fastening designs, and apply GD&T using CATIA V6
• Manage CAD data and component lifecycle in Enovia PLM
• Collaborate with studio, packaging, advanced engineering, and manufacturing teams
• Support system validation and milestone delivery by ensuring all geometric requirements are met
• Drive design excellence and contribute to the development of best practices
• Provide launch support and resolve manufacturing/design issues in real-time

What You Bring

• Bachelor\'s degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 5+ years of experience in automotive interior component design
• Expert in CATIA V6 - fast, efficient modeling with clean part structures
• Deep understanding of manufacturing processes: wrapping, injection molding, painting, compression molding
• Knowledge of structural component production: stamping, casting, extrusion
• Strong grasp of GD&T, fit and finish, and tolerance analysis
• Experience working with 3D virtual packaging and complex environments
• Familiarity with computational tools and design analysis
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills
• Proven experience supporting vehicle launches
