Job summary

Express Employment is seeking a CAD Drafter in Wisconsin to develop detailed 2D and 3D drawings for mechanical and structural projects. You will convert sketches into precise plans and update models as designs change, collaborating with engineers and sales teams.

Travel to customer sites for measurements and ensure drawings comply with industry standards and project requirements. Strong attention to detail and GD&T knowledge are essential.

Job Description

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm

Pay: up to $31.73/HR

Duties

• Develop detailed 2D and 3D technical drawings using CAD software for mechanical and structural projects.

• Convert sketches, specifications, and notes into accurate technical plans provided by customers, sales staff, and engineers.

• Modify and update existing drawings and models based on design changes, feedback, or corrections.

• Verify compliance with industry standards and project requirements for all drawings and models.

• Collaborate with engineering, sales, and project teams to understand design requirements and project goals.

• Travel to customer sites as needed to take measurements and assist in planning crane system installations or modifications.

• Maintain an organized archive of CAD files and drawings including revisions and project documentation.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in industry-standard CAD software such as AutoCAD, AutoCAD Mechanical, SolidWorks, Revit, 3D Lift, Crane Planner, or MicroStation.

• Strong understanding of drafting principles, GD&T, and engineering methods relevant to mechanical and structural design.

• High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all drafting work.

• Ability to troubleshoot design issues and verify measurements throughout the drafting process.

• Effective written and verbal communication skills for working with multidisciplinary teams.

• Strong time‑management skills with the ability to meet strict project deadlines.

• Associate’s Degree in CAD drafting or related field preferred.

• Experience in manufacturing or structural installations such as crane systems is a plus.
