Job summary

Pacer Group in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Drafter 2 to support surveying and engineering projects by preparing CAD drawings, researching survey and real estate records, and assisting field and office personnel.

Ideal candidates have 2–5 years of drafting experience, strong CAD skills, and the ability to interpret survey data including metes and bounds and centerline descriptions. This on-site role offers a stable standard schedule and competitive hourly pay.

Responsibilities

• CAD Drafting & Survey Support: Perform CAD drafting for transmission line centerline right-of-way, boundary, topographic, and land tie surveys; Interpret and prepare metes and bounds and centerline descriptions; Support survey field crews and office personnel; Review and interpret survey and property information for accuracy and completeness.
• Records & Right-of-Way Research: Research existing survey records and real estate records; Contact local and state agencies to obtain right-of-way information; Review available survey and property information to support project requirements.
• Project Coordination & Documentation: Prepare and transmit completed projects and related documentation; Collaborate with survey field crews and office personnel to ensure project requirements are met; Maintain accuracy and completeness of project-related drafting and documentation; Perform other related duties as assigned.
