Job summary

W3Global in Hauppauge, NY seeks an experienced CAD Draftsperson to support its surveying team. You will prepare accurate 2D survey drawings using AutoCAD, process field data, and draft ALTA/NSPS and boundary plans.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of CAD drafting experience, familiarity with survey data, and strong attention to detail. This in-person role offers collaboration with field crews and multiple project deliverables for our Long Island client base.

Qualifications

• 2+ years CAD drafting experience, preferably in land surveying or civil engineering.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD.
• Ability to read and interpret survey drawings, plans, maps and technical documents.
• Experience drafting from survey field data is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed 2D survey drawings and plans using AutoCAD and related drafting software.
• Process and draft information collected by field survey crews.
• Prepare boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, existing conditions and construction-related survey drawings.
• Import, organize and manage survey points and field data.
• Draft property boundaries, easements, rights-of-way, utilities, structures and other site features.
• Prepare contours, surface information and other topographic elements.
• Review field notes, survey data, deeds and other supporting documents.
• Make revisions to drawings based on field information and direction from the Professional Land Surveyor or project team.
• Maintain drawing standards, layers, dimensions, annotations and title blocks.
• Coordinate with field crews to clarify discrepancies or missing information.
• Assist with preparation of final survey plans, exhibits and other project deliverables.
• Maintain organized project files and documentation.
• Ensure drawings are accurate, complete and consistent with project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Previous experience with boundary, topographic or ALTA/NSPS surveys.
• Familiarity with survey point files, surfaces, contours and coordinate systems.
• Experience working with total station/GPS field data.
• Knowledge of New York surveying standards and practices.
• Previous experience in a professional land surveying or civil engineering environment.
