Job summary

RGP (Resources Connection) is seeking a CAD Drafter/Designer to support structural and mechanical engineering projects by creating drawings in Autodesk AutoCAD under engineer direction. The role pays $35/hr–$45/hr and aims to start ASAP.

It is a drafting support position lasting up to one year, with potential limited Inventor use and markup incorporation. The candidate will produce sheets, details, and production-quality drawings for structural steel and facility designs, read related drawings,

Qualifications

• 9+ years AutoCAD drafting experience or equivalent program
• Proficient in 2D AutoCAD and standard drawing practices
• Able to create and revise drawings from engineer markups, sketches, and direction
• Able to read structural, mechanical, and facility drawings
• Experience with field verification and taking dimensions preferred
• Strong attention to drawing accuracy, revisions, and configuration control
• Industrial or manufacturing facility drafting experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Create drawings for structural steel and facility-related designs, including members, welds, bolts, handrails, deck plate, supports, brackets and limited mechanical components.
• Produce sheets, details, plan views, sections and production-quality drawings.
• May use Autodesk Inventor and incorporate engineer markups and field notes; participate in peer checks and drawing reviews.
• Support engineers with drafting tasks; no independent design authority or final approval responsibility.
