Our precision-engineered products support mission-critical applications across the aerospace, defense, and commercial industries.Position OverviewAir Rover is seeking a skilled CAD Drafter to join our Engineering team in Tyler, Texas. This role is responsible for creating and maintaining accurate technical drawings and engineering documentation using SolidWorks. Working closely with Engineering and Production, the CAD Drafter supports product development, manufacturing, and continuous improvement. This position reports directly to the Lead Engineer.What Makes a Successful CandidateThe ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically skilled, and enjoys turning engineering concepts into accurate, practical designs. They are comfortable working independently, collaborating across departments, and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Key ResponsibilitiesCreate and revise detailed CAD drawings, including parts, assemblies, sheet metal designs, electrical layouts, and piping diagrams.Interpret engineering designs, sketches, and specifications to develop accurate technical drawings.Maintain engineering documentation, including Bills of Materials (BOMs), production routings, and engineering change requests (ECRs).Develop technical manuals, specification sheets, illustrated parts breakdowns, and work instructions.Verify drawing accuracy, dimensions, materials, and component relationships.Collaborate with Engineering and Production to resolve design and manufacturing challenges.Support continuous improvement and maintain accurate engineering records.A successful candidate will bring:SolidWorks proficiency and at least 2 years of CAD drafting or design experience.An Associate's degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.Strong technical skills with the ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and design requirements.Experience working with ERP systems; PDM experience is a plus.Excellent attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving abilities.Strong communication skills, adaptability, and a proactive approach to completing projects.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.Physical RequirementsProlonged periods working at a computer, including repetitive hand movements and detailed visual work.Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.Join Our TeamAt Air Rover, you'll be part of a team dedicated to delivering innovative, high-quality products that support critical operations worldwide.
