Job summary

Hurco Companies, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented CAD Drafter to join our Engineering team in Indianapolis, Indiana.

This role provides CAD design and solid modeling support for engineers and designers while helping develop and maintain accurate engineering documentation for our CNC machine tools. Responsibilities include creating assemblies in SolidWorks, maintaining BOMs, processing ECNs through PDM and Dynamics 365, and preparing SOPs, specs, part numbers, and configuration sheets.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in Drafting, Mechanical Design, or Engineering Technology.
• SolidWorks experience required or preferred; ability to create detailed drawings.
• Experience with BOMs and engineering documentation.
• Familiarity with PDM systems and ERP systems (D365 a plus).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel/Word/PowerPoint).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Create and detail mechanical assemblies and components using SolidWorks.
• Develop and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) in SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Process Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) through PDM and ERP (Microsoft Dynamics 365).
• Prepare and maintain engineering documentation (SOPs, technical specs, part numbers, configuration sheets).
• Produce detailed drawings with dimensions and tolerances for manufacturing.
• Ensure documents are accurate, organized, and up-to-date.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support new product development and continuous improvement.

Hurco Companies, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented CAD Drafter to join our Engineering team in Indianapolis, Indiana. What You'll Do

• Create and detail mechanical assemblies and components using SolidWorks.
• Develop and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) in SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Process Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) through Product Data Management (PDM) and the ERP system (Microsoft Dynamics 365).
• Prepare and maintain engineering documentation, including:
  • Standard operating procedures
  • Technical specifications
  • Part numbers
  • Configuration sheets
• Support engineers and designers by producing detailed drawings with dimensions, tolerances, and manufacturing information.
• Ensure engineering documentation is accurate, organized, and up to date.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support new product development and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Drafting, Mechanical Design, Engineering Technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience using SolidWorks or another 3D CAD software package (SolidWorks preferred).
• Experience creating detailed mechanical drawings and assemblies.
• Familiarity with Bills of Materials (BOMs) and engineering documentation.
• Experience with Product Data Management (PDM) systems is preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) or other ERP systems is a plus.
• AutoCAD experience is a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
