Cambridge International Systems, Inc. has a full-time CAD Drafter opportunity available based in Charleston, SC. Qualified candidates for this job must possess a current DoD Secret security clearance.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work in conjunction with Principal Designers and Engineers to help develop all aspects of a project.
• Prepare complete sets of complex drawings which include multiple views, detail drawings, and assembly drawings using Revit and AutoCAD software.
• Work from sketches, models, and verbal information supplied by an engineer, architect, or designer to determine the most appropriate views, detail drawings, and supplementary information needed to complete assignments.
• Select required information from precedents, manufacturers' catalogs, specifications, and technical guides.
• May be assigned to a project or organizational team, or as a technical assistant for a specific discipline on a small to intermediate-size project.
• Provide support in defining and developing detailed calculations, drawings, design and installation packages, technical reports, and detailed analyses.
• Support the verification of the design specifications and assure accuracy of red-lined drawings upon project completion.
• Assist in the preparation of drawings and technical specifications for final customer presentations.
• Develop, review and update Installation Design Packages (IDPs) for 30%, 60%, 90% and final design reviews in accordance with the NIWC Shore Installation Process Handbook (SIPH).
• Assist in the development and maintenance of office drafting and engineering standards, including but not limited to office policies, guidelines, technical instructions, standards, etc.
• Support client reviews of drawings, design and installation packages, technical reports, and detailed analyses.
• Provide support for other engineering activities as required.
• Assist in the training and mentoring of team members in the use of AutoCAD and Revit per required standards and processes.

Required QUALIFICATIONS

• Must possess an active DoD Secret security clearance.
• 3-5+ years of experience in Autodesk AutoCAD; 2018 or later.
• Ability to work independently or as a member of a team.
• Skilled in the use of Revit and AutoCAD, specifically NIWC SIPH drawing standards.
• Proficient in the use of Adobe PRO for document preparation.
• Experienced working with Engineers, Architects, and Technicians.
• Must be proficient in using different technologies such as computers and other tools and systems pertinent to the position.
• REVIT experience desired.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

• In rare occasions, overnight travel may be required.

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT AND WORKING CONDITIONS

• Must be able to work in an office environment, sitting at a desk, looking at a computer for most of the workday.
• Work is physically comfortable; the employee has discretion about sitting, walking, standing, etc.
• May be required to travel short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on site.
