Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an entry-level Transportation CAD Technician in Indianapolis, Indiana. You will create detailed plan sheets including titles, indices, cross sections, and MOT details, and prepare plan components from mark-ups.

Qualifications

• Requires entry-level to transportation engineering familiarity.
• Associate degree or equivalent CAD training required.
• Proficient with AutoCAD 2004+ and Civil 3D design software.
• Ability to interpret mark-ups and produce plan sheets.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Knowledge of Indiana Design Manual CAD standards and plan sheet order.

Responsibilities

• Create accurate plan sheets: Title, Index, Typical Cross Sections, MOT Details, Plan & Profiles, Details, cross-section sheets.
• Prepare plan components via mark-ups/redlines.
• Prepare quantities and calculations.
• Develop display materials for public meetings.
• Draft initial MOT layouts with oversight and pavement markings design.
• Assemble exhibits for proposals and engineer reports.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Create accurate and detailed plan sheets including but not limited to Title, Index, Typical Cross Sections, Maintenance of Traffic Details, Plan & Profiles, Details, and Cross-Section sheets
• Prepare various components of road construction plans via “mark‑ups/redlines.”
• Prepare accurate quantities and calculations
• Prepare “display” materials for Public meetings
• Prepare initial Maintenance of Traffic layouts with oversight.
• Prepare pavement marking design with oversight.
• Assist in assembling various exhibits for Proposals and Engineer’s Reports
• Meet deadlines
• Maintain the confidentiality of information regarding clients and company practices
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Entry level; Experience in Transportation Engineering preferred
• Associate degree in CAD or completion of a 2‑year CAD program
• Proficient with a computer and AutoCAD 2004 or higher
• Working knowledge of Civil 3D Design software
• Possess good communication skills.
• Able to interpret and complete “mark‑ups/redlines” to Plan sheets
• Able to work within a “team” concept
• Working knowledge of the Indiana Design Manual relative to CAD standards
• Working knowledge of the Indiana Design Manual relative to Plan sheet order
• Working knowledge in the use of the INDOT Standard Drawings
• Able to work seated 9 or more hours per workday
• Able to work 40 or more hours per work week as needed
• Able to work outdoors traversing uneven or difficult terrainAgree to abide by the personnel policies identified in the Company Policy
