Job summary

Daikin Applied is seeking a Designer III to design parts and assemblies, create production drawings, and manage BOMs using SolidWorks. You will translate concepts into manufacturing docs and collaborate with Marketing/Sales on design modifications to meet weekly schedules.

The role requires 4–6 years of design experience, a technical degree in Design/Drafting, and ability to travel up to 10%. Hybrid work in Staunton, VA or Plymouth, MN is available.

Qualifications

• Vocational or technical degree in Design/Drafting or equivalent experience.
• 4–6 years related design experience.
• Experience in sheet metal design and/or HVAC products is desired.
• Ability to travel (10% or less of the time)

Responsibilities

• Create engineering documentation including SolidWorks, modeling, fabrication and purchase drawings that conform to Daikin standards.
• Translate engineering/marketing intent into manufacturing documentation.
• Work with Marketing/Sales to provide documentation for original designs or custom modifications of current products to meet weekly production schedules.
• Exhibit a sense of design and mechanical aptitude with abstract thinking and reasoning skills.
• Demonstrate creative ability, accuracy, and cost effectiveness.
• Complete work assignments within determined time frame and use judgment in determining assignment goals.
• Gain knowledge of design and manufacturing practices, processes, and Daikin products.
• Demonstrate an understanding of legacy bill of materials systems and product structuring logic.
• Be part of and function in a team environment including cross functional and inter-departmental teams.

The typical annual base salary for this position ranges from $31.73 - $52.29 USD per hour in VA. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade in which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
