Job Title: Computer Aided Design Designer

Base pay range: $22.00/hr - $24.00/hr

Our experienced team connects testing and engineering and allows problem solving and corrective actions to occur before they become adverse client challenges.

Main Duties:

• Perform site visits, data collection, detailed field inspection, topographic surveys, substation surveys, utility pole inspections, building investigations, manhole inspections, document field notes and other data required to develop design drawings.
• Perform records research, submit One Call System (POCS) design tickets for underground maps, National Joint Utilities Notification System (NJUNS) tickets, obtain right-of-way/easement maps, as-builts and other utility information.
• Under Project Manager’s/Professional Engineer’s supervision, develop conceptual plans, subsurface utility base maps, civil & electrical design drawings for proposed overhead and underground infrastructure, plan & profile drawings, utility pole diagrams, cable pull plans, permit drawings, construction drawings, details, specifications, as-builts/ record drawings, etc.
• Prepare notes, instructions, permit applications, bid specifications, bill of materials, material requests, clearance requests, construction work order packages and other project related documents.
• Prepare designs ready for Licensed Professional Engineers to endorse (sign and/or seal) prior to client submissions.
• If required, assist other senior level professionals with development of proposals, project coordination, meeting minutes, preparing Task Orders for subcontractors, technical and commercial write-ups, etc.

Desired Education, Experience and Training:

• Associate’s degree in civil / electrical or related engineering, or CAD certification / trade school program preferred.
• 0-5 years of qualified industry experience. T&D experience is preferred.
• Ideal candidate is knowledgeable in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation platforms.
• Able to complete tasks in accordance with project procedures, applicable codes and/or standards and meet project deadlines.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Communicate effectively with immediate supervisor and other project personnel.
• Demonstrate commitment to customer service and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
