Job summary

Johnson Controls in Texas seeks a CAD designer to support project design setup and coordinate with the Project Systems Specialist. You will create design drawings, floor plans, interconnections, and installation details to ensure timely, accurate project turnarounds.

You will prepare panel layouts, riser diagrams, and perform battery and voltage drop calculations under supervision, while maintaining drawing files and documentation per policy.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree or 2 years minimum experience.
• Hybrid role requiring in-office training.
• Experience with AutoCAD 2D.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Prepares complex system design drawings with floor plan layouts, interconnections, and installation detail drawings under guidance of a project design specialist.
• Facilitates the preparation of owner/operation manuals and record drawings using CAD software.
• Checks accuracy of own work and ensures all time is properly coded to projects.
• Collaborates with Project Systems Specialist to ensure clarity, completeness, conformity to standards, and accuracy of calculations and dimensions.
• Maintains project drawing files, drawing library, and documentation per policy.
