Job summary
FlatironDragados is seeking a CAD Designer to create shop drawings and preliminary designs for construction projects. You will analyze sketches, specify tolerances and materials, and ensure drawings meet engineering requirements and company standards.
With 4+ years in CAD and 3+ years in construction, you will collaborate with Construction Engineers to produce accurate three‑dimensional drawings and supporting data for temporary works plans.
Qualifications
- Technical degree or Associate’s degree in Computer Aided Design, Engineering, or related technical field.
- 4+ years of experience with CAD required.
- 3+ years of experience within the Construction industry required.
Responsibilities
- Creates shop drawings with tolerances, dimensions, materials, and data based on guidance and design specifications.
- Prepares preliminary designs for review by the Construction Engineer team.
- Analyzes sketches and input materials to determine best approach to drawings using internal software.
- Identifies locations and/or structures that need engineering.
- Builds detailed drawings describing construction design intent and critical elements.
